Holiday party time!

The holiday party season has started and with the shopping for others out of the way...it's time to think about what you will wear to all the parties!  We all lean towards black which is always a nice classy look, but maybe this year add red skinny jeans, sparkle cardigan, or statement necklace to spice it up.  Blue, pink, and cream are beautiful Christmas colors as well. You don't have to show up looking like a walking ornament, with a few sparkly touches or a hint of red and green you will look fabulous.  Plaid and leather are some hot trends to add to your look.  Also a little sparkle powder on your eyes and cheeks after applying your makeup can give you a holiday glow.

Scarf it up

Scarfs, scarfs, scarfs! Ahhh, it's finally scarf season! YAY! Scarfs are amazing, they keep you warm and are a very nice touch to any outfit.  There are so many ways to tie them! Also, with countless patterns and colors you can always keep things interesting.  The longer they are the better! That gives you more options to play with different ties. The infinity scarfs are a great option as well.  Very easy for a first time scarf wearer you just loop it on.  That will get you use to wearing them and then you can branch out into the longer ones.  Charming charlie always has a great selection of scarfs in all different colors. I just learned to tie a bow scarf today and it looks aborable!

Mix up your metals

We are talking about mixing metallics! A lot of people still try to match their metals. From shoe buckle to purse zipper, you can go crazy over it. I look at it as an opportunity to mix them up! All you need is a mixed bracelet or two to make anything work together.  Next time you are out shopping pick up a mixed bangle set or a pretty mixed necklace.

You will thank yourself later.

Hello faux fur! Fur is everywhere right now and it's a perfect addition to your outfit for the cold winter nights. There are so many ways you can it into your wardrobe.  You can put a fur vest or coat over a dress for the upcoming holiday parties or you can wear some fur boots or scarf with jeans and a casual sweater.  It's always classy and stylish! Since it is fake fur be careful not to go too cheap on it or it will shed like crazy! We are animal friendly so no real fur here! Happy FURiday! :)

Would YOU Wear IT Wednesdays #3

As the holidays are approaching we all start to think about what we are going to wear to the festivities.  So tell me would you be wearing a holiday sweater this year?

 

My thoughts: I think this sweater is adorable! Not sure if I can pull that look off but maybe after a few eggnogs I wouldn't mind ;)

Halloween looks from your closet!

Don't worry ladies if you are still looking for a costume look no further than your closet!  Here are some ideas that you can do using items you already own and maybe picking up a few finishing touches. Happy Halloween!

 

Classic School Girl. All you need is a short skirt, button down top, little sweater, and knee high socks! Pigtails also help complete the look.

Hippie time! These flower headbands are everywhere you probably own one. Put that on with a flowery top and jeans (bell bottoms) and you are a flower child.

Ahh...Breakfast at Tiffany's.  Everyone owns a LBD so put that on with some pearls are you are all set! Grab some gloves and a cigarette at any costume store.

Librarian/Secretary is a perfect idea for someone who already works in an office.

We all have a black skirt and blouse. 

Lastly...a snow bunny.  This might be hard for the girls in AZ to pull off but who doesn't love a furry hat and gloves.  Switch the vest out for a scarf and you will still look like a snow queen.

Would YOU Wear IT Wednesdays #2

It's time for would you wear it Wedensday.  A lot of the 90's trends are making a come back. I grew up in the 90s so I am very excited to see some of my favorites are coming back to the runways and stores. I can remember feeling like Cher from Clueless everytime I wore something like this.  So tell me would you wear thigh high socks, maybe again?

I have nothing to wear!

This picture couldn't say it any better.  I am sure most or all women can agree with me on this one.  Why do we have a closet filled with stuff and nothing to wear? And why do we only wear certain things one time? We all read those sections in magazines with the 8 essential pieces you can wear 20 ways. We buy the items, wear them a few times, and that's it! I am sure the malls appreciate it but our wallets don't. I think we all need a shirt like this to wear on those days.

 

I usually end up in the "staple" outfit. Black tee and jeans. Now that is one item you can wear 20 different ways and will.
